The constraints of a log house.

This technique lends itself to a variety of uses: garden shed, sauna, garage, woodshed, forest refuge, holiday chalet, villa, restaurant, etc ... It also blends well with a lot of architectural styles.

Limits are:

  • The length of the woods: We avoid to exceed the average length of a log, namely a maximum cell of 10 x 10 m. To build on greater dimensions, you need to deal with multiple cells.
  • Compaction: once completed, the roundwoods will compress themselves from 3 to 6% in the early years. All elements must be installed with adaptative systems. For example, slide doors and windows. For this reason, log buildings greater than two levels are avoided.
